Declan booked a two bed berth, so it was just the two of us, with a door that shuts to the carriage corridor. I&#8217;m always worried about accidentally stepping on them though and getting in a lot of trouble. It is the only time I think they do. Although sometimes people are waiting between the boom gates, so I guess they got stuck? In the bigger cities you end up seeing hundreds of bikes stacked up waiting for you to go past and zoom back off. The train attendant in our carriage appeared what couldn&#8217;t have been more than 10 minutes later and brusquely collected our plates, with more than half of our dinner remaining. I suppose we could have said we weren&#8217;t finished yet but she gestured with such force we were stunned into submission.
