Fri 1st Dec – Interlude
A bridging day, where I mostly ignored packing my suitcase and waited for Declan to arrive in Randwick.
The glorious gem in this interregnum was going for dinner in Redfern with Mimi, at a Chinese upmarket restaurant called Redbird. I do need to extend apologies to Miriam, as she did clearly tell me she wasn’t that hungry, and I persisted in over-ordering. Not only did she split the bill with me evenly, we were too full and out of time for dessert as a result of my overeager attention to the menu.

Food looks delicious but 5 plates and rice between 2 seems adventurous even by my standards.
Were there leftovers?
There was a very tiny amount of leftovers. The tiny degree of leftovers really spoke to the degree to which I was full. I think you and mum would have enjoyed the restaurant. The difficult thing when ordering was that everything sounded good and the menu was printed on matt paper, which makes it all look even better.
